Itinerary for Day Trip from Fes to Chefchaouen
After breakfast departure with the driver to Chefchaouen, the city which is about 3 hours from Fez is called the “Blue Pearl” because all the buildings, doors, windows, fountains, and streets are painted in different shades of blue. The city was considered sacred for centuries and was even forbidden to foreigners. Only recently, in the 1950s, have things changed and the city has become a tourist destination that few people know about yet. The medina is a maze of narrow, blue-colored alleys and the reason for this is purely religious and not aesthetic. Inhabited by Berbers, it was founded by Spaniards coming from Andalusia, which is why the old part of the city resembles Andalusian villages with narrow streets and walls full of flowers. Most of its inhabitants still speak Spanish today. In the center of the old town, you will see the Outa-el-Hammam Square where you will find the Tarik-Ben-Ziad Mosque which hides an octagonal minaret inspired by Seville’s Torre del Oro and a splendid fortress. The new town is built further down. Return to Fez in the evening. Expected to get to Fez around 06:00 Pm.

Testimonials
The blue city road trip!
I absolutely adored this company and this vacation!!! My first trip to Morocco was with two pals, and we had a great time! I have to give Hassan a shout out because he was the best travel advisor I've ever met! He picked us up from our hotel in Fes and immediately made us feel at ease and safe, which was very important to us. We had such a great time on the drive there, sharing laughter and stories while attempting to understand each other's cultures. It was a four-hour journey there and back; we stopped halfway for restroom breaks and coffee before continuing on our way. He is quite informed about his nation, which is helpful in understanding the history of the sites we visited. I would highly suggest this tour group/business, and as three solitary American girls, we had a fantastic experience and felt extremely comfortable in the hands of this firm, particularly Hassan. This was definitely worth our money and time! If I return to Morocco, I would definitely do this again!

High quality service day trip from Fes to Chefchaouen!
With the support of my friends, I was able to book this day tour. We had a sense we'd have a good time with this company, and we did. A few words about our driver, Lhoucine, who was a true gentleman, informed, and competent. He even offered to buy us a glass of water for free and let us listen to our own music for the day trip. Very flexible service that is both helpful and educational. The blue city is a beauty, and it is so blue that we had to take photos on almost every corner haha, we absolutely adore it, and the drive across the landscape is genuinely gloriously green and panoramic. We had to award this company 5 stars or higher for providing us with memorable memories in Morocco. We simply feel compelled to return to Morocco to explore more, and we will undoubtedly contact Lhoucine. Highly recommended!!!
