Our 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora starts at 8:00 AM, our driver will come to pick you up from your Riad or hotel in Marrakech in a comfortable air-conditioned 4×4 car or minivan. We leave the ochre city behind and begin your journey over the TiziN’Tichka Pass (2260 m) and through the Atlas Mountains. This route is known for its breathtaking views of the high peaks and tranquil Atlas valleys. In the Ounila valley, we leave the main road to visit Kasbah Telout, an uninhabited clay brick castle that once belonged to the Glaoui family. We continue to Ouarzazate for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we head south and cross a second pass, Tizi n’Tnifift, at 1710m. We pass through the village of AitSaoun, which is on the former caravan road used by Saharan traders on their way back from Timbuktu. We reach the village of Agdez at the entrance to the beautiful Draa Valley with its elongated palm groves and interspersed with many Kasbahs. We continue our way through the lunar landscapes of the pre-Saharan roads to the town of Zagora. We will get on the camels for a walk of about an hour and a half among the dunes; we will arrive at the camp half an hour before sunset and we will have a mint tea together with the nomads of the camp. Then we will go to the dunes to admire the sunset, take a walk to discover the desert, waiting for the night to admire an extraordinary starry sky.

Testimonials

Amazing!!!

It was an incredible experience! I'll say it again and again. We reserved a two-day, one-night tour to Zagora. Rashid, our driver, was fantastic! He was quite pleasant and helpful. The minivan was fantastic, and the desert camp was fantastic! The guide in Ait Ben Haddou's Kasbah was very pleasant. The berber campers were quite friendly, and the cuisine (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. At sunset and sunrise, take a camel ride. Prepare some money to tip everyone. It had all been worthwhile! I strongly advise you to do so!!!
