This 2 day desert trip from Marrakech covers two full days and one night. The program, as you can see, is intense to make the most of this trip of 350 km for the outward journey, and as many for the return. We will start our 2 day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora at 8 am and head to the High Atlas. After passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass, we will arrive at the fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou, considered the most spectacular and best preserved Kasbah in the country, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Nearby are the film studios of Ouarzazate, where epic films such as Gladiator, Babel, and Cleopatra were filmed.
After lunch, we will continue our 2 day trip from Marrakech south through the Draa Valley to Zagora. Once there, we will leave the vehicle and ride a camel to freely roam the desert dunes and enjoy a spectacular sunset. We will have dinner and sleep in tents, camped in the middle of the desert.

On the second day of 2 days tour from Marrakech to Zagora desert, we get up early in the morning to watch the sunrise from a small dune next to the camp. After breakfast, we return to Zagora on camels, and again in our car we head towards the Draa Valley. On the way, we will make some stops to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valley along the Draa River. This river is the longest in Morocco and flows through the whole country to Mauritania to end in the Atlantic Ocean. Then we will drive through the Anti Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, where we can visit Taourirt Kasbah, the film studios, and the Cinema Museum if you wish. Then we start the way back to Marrakech.
Stop at the port of Tizi N’Tichka and free time for lunch. After lunch, we continue our 2 days tour from Marrakech, and in about 2 hours we arrive in Marrakech, transfer to the hotel, and end our 2 days from Marrakech to Zagora.

It depends on the time of the year you visit us, in winter the weather is cold in Morocco and especially in the desert at night, so check first on a weather page to know better and exactly for the days you will be here, in early summer, let’s say from May to September, as we know, this country reaches 35-40 degrees, then you should choose your clothes as if you are having a direct trip to the beach. The Zagora tour is for those who visit the country for a couple of days and do not want to miss the opportunity to see the dunes once, Zagora the dunes are much smaller than Merzouga but no less beautiful, both of them have the magic of the desert and the logistics until we get to Ouarzazate is the same as it is the same road, in this tour the first and only night you will sleep in the Zagora desert camp.
The excursion to Merzouga, as it is further away than Zagora, is offered as a 3 days tour from Marrakech, the first night is in Dades Georges and the second night you will sleep in the Merzouga camp.
